CLOVER VALLEY RANCH
APPROX. 2655 ACRES IN PLUMAS COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
This spectacular ranch property is one of two ranches in the entire valley, located 9 miles north of Beckwourth California on Genessee Rd. It is approx. 60 miles northwest of Reno Nevada and approx. 70 miles north of Lake Tahoe.
This historic ranch was originally a dairy and ranching operation owned by Charles Laffranchini. The Laffranchini's were a Swiss-Italian family who operated the ranch from 1891 to 1907. The ranch has been owned by the current owners family since 1931.
The majority of the ranch consists of vast meadows that encompass approx. half of Clover Valley with approx. 200 acres in the pine trees . There are two streams that converge on the ranch, Clover Creek and Dixie Creek. The meadows are fenced and cross fenced and historically the ranch has summered approx. 600 cows.
The improvements on this unique property are minimal, they consist of a large classic historical barn, the old Clover Valley ranch home (probably beyond restoration) some old outbuildings and working corrals.
This property is a prime candidate for a conservation easement. This would not only preserve the property but also offset a portion of the purchase price. There are some spectacular building sites in the trees overlooking the meadows with amazing views of the the surrounding Sierra Nevada Mountains including Dixie Peak.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the last large ranch properties (2655 contiguous acres) so close to Reno and Tahoe. The property last changed hands 80 years ago! This ranch property is remote and access in the winter is sometimes limited. There are not many privately owned properties in the area. Most of the surrounding land is owned by the United States Forest Service.
The Clover Valley Ranch is offered for sale at $5,250,000.
